TUPELO, MS — The United States Patriot Corps Mississippi Detachment held its first drill on 7 DEC 2021 at Veterans Park located at 800 North Veterans Blvd in Tupelo, Mississippi. Captain Robert Minteer, Commander of the Patriot Corps Mississippi Detachment held muster and swore in new recruits, afterward they held a tribute to December 7, 1941, "a date which will live in infamy". That is the date that the Imperial Japanese Navy attacked the United States Naval base at Pearl Harbor and was the reason for the United States entering WWII.
Captain Robert Minteer said "This was the right date and the right place to start the Patriot Corps Mississippi Detachment. We have a lot of work ahead of us in 2022, we will be posting our yearly drill schedule up next week and look forward to achieving our goals."
